Family Therapy: Inviting the Family to Dinner
Presented by: Mira Franco, LCSW
Site Director, The Renfrew Center of Chicago
Researchers say that sharing a family meal is good for the spirit, mind and health of families. When those affected by an eating disorder are reunited for a family meal, it can be a challenge for all involved. Professionals who invite families to the dinner table for a therapeutic meal can use the experience as a powerful tool for assessment and an opportunity to enhance caregivers’ skill as emotion coaches.
This webinar will offer strategies that professionals can employ to support families in confidently participating in their loved one’s recovery.
