The Renfrew Center of Northern New Jersey specializes in the treatment of anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, and related mental illnesses. Programming consists of a comprehensive range of services including day treatment, intensive outpatient and group therapy.

The Renfrew Center of Northern New Jersey is located in the center of the town of Ridgewood, NJ at 174 Union Street. There is ample parking in the rear of the building and the site is a few short blocks from both a bus stop and train station.


Meet our Clinical Team:

Lori Grossman Ciotti, LICSW, is the Regional Assistant Vice President. She received her Bachelor's degree in English from Tufts University and her Master's degree in Social Work from Simmons College. Ms. Ciotti is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and has extensive business experience including founding and managing her own company. Most recently, she was the Corporate Clinic Director for a multi-site mental health facility in the Boston area.

 

Janet Negrini, LCSW, is the Site Director at The Renfrew Center of Northern New Jersey. Joining Renfrew in 2004, she worked as a Primary Therapist at the Ridgewood location for ten years, and most recently held the position of Senior Admissions Coordinator. Ms. Negrini’s former experience includes serving as Director of Social Work at Catholic Charities in Newark, NJ, and as Clinical Supervisor of its Partial Hospital Program in Union City, NJ. Her expertise includes addictions treatment as well as working with the persistently mentally ill.

A free workshop for alumni and those needing extra support

The holiday season can be filled with celebration and joy. Nonetheless, this time of year can bring with it a wide range of feelings and circumstances that may interfere with your ability to enjoy the sparkle of the season.

Join us for an enlightening and supportive workshop that will help you celebrate this holiday season and plan for the New Year ahead.

In this workshop, you will:

  • Practice mindfulness skills to stay in the moment in order to appreciate the joy that the holiday season brings.
  • Identify aspects of your own recovery that deserve recognition and special attention during this time.
  • Develop goals for the New Year and take action to ensure you give yourself the gift of a happier, healthier you!

The Thirty Something and Beyond Group helps participants 30 years of age or older explore the connections between their eating concerns and other life challenges in the family, social and occupational areas.

The Adolescent Eating Disorders Group, through peer interaction, addresses the eating disordered behavior as well as the biopsychosocial and cultural factors associated with these disorders specific to this age group.

Location: The Renfrew Center of Northern New Jersey

The Emotional Eating Group provides a safe and supportive environment in which women can explore the emotional, behavioral and interpersonal factors influencing their eating behaviors as well as their feelings, thoughts and beliefs about their bodies. While focusing on the underlying issues of emotional and binge eating, participants gain the skills and confidence to tolerate a range of internal emotional experiences without resorting to the use of eating disorder symptoms. This group also addresses issues related to family, work, relationships, and phase of life struggles so that individuals can explore lifestyle changes that promote recovery.
