Renfrew Research

Researchers at The Renfrew Center Foundation, the non-profit arm of The Renfrew Center, are committed to finding new insight into the causes of eating disorders. Much of their task is dedicated to developing tools for measuring the impact of treatment outcomes.

The Renfrew Center’s Research Department:

  • Oversees the collection of empirical research data from our 19 clinical sites
Uses collected data to shape and improve clinical programming by providing clinicians, patients and their families with clear markers of treatment progress
Utilizes data to help set specific treatment goals based on each patient’s individual and unique needs and vulnerabilities
Provides patients and families with the opportunity to contribute to the expansion of knowledge in the field through their participation in various voluntary research activities

Renfrew’s research team is also making significant contributions to the academic study of eating disorders by competing for federally-funded grant opportunities, publishing studies in peer-reviewed journals and presenting research findings at professional conferences.

Renfrew's multi-year project to adapt and implement evidence-based treatment across all levels of care has been published in the highly regarded peer-reviewed journal, Clinical Psychology: Science and Practice.
